Need some green to make your business greener?

Business in the Green will award $10,000 to a Knoxville-area business seeking to make its operations more environmentally friendly and energy efficient.

Deadline to enter is March 1, Click Here to fill out your application.

The entry form that includes questions about a business’ proposed green initiative, steps to implement the initiative, how its success will be measured, and the impact on the environment, as well as finances and operations.

Entries will be judged by independent panel of representatives from local businesses and nonprofit organizations with demonstrated expertise in green initiatives.

The program is now in its third year and sponsored by the Greater Knoxville Business Journal, KUB, Thermocopy and Efficient Energy of Tennessee.

The winner will be featured in Business in the Green, an annual publication highlighting local green achievements, products and services that’s included in the May issue of the Business Journal.

Entries may be submitted until 11:59 p.m. Sunday. Feb. 28, 2010. Entrants are required to complete a questionnaire regarding their business operations and submit an essay of no more than 500 words on how they would spend the $10,000 prize on a green initiative.
